Good rake
This brush seems to work well. I have used it once on our Husky German Shepherd mix and it removed a big pile of her fur. Seems to work a lot better than the Furminator. That brush works well, but it pulls a lot more and sounds like it is cutting the fur more than pulling out loose fur. It is a lot sharper too and I think it irritates the skin more than this rake does.

Don’t get the slicker brush unless you have a thick coated pet.
I got these brushes to manage my American shorthairs matting. I didn’t know she was supposed to be brushed daily and the shed hairs got tangled and matted in her coat. This tool worked really well. It took a little time to understand the right angle of attack. She didn’t like it initially, but now she’s realized it makes her feel better after, so she’s been tolerating a lot more than before. She even purrs the whole time. The slicker brush I got just in case it worked for her. She runs when she sees it now, reserve it for heavy coated dogs only. Husky, shiba inu, shitzu etc. If your dog has more than an inch of fur, you need the slicker brush. Cats and short furred friends probably don’t need it. I’ll use it for wool roving instead. They’re both very good quality. I don’t regret getting this at all.

It’s snowing Floof!
The Maxpower Planet Dog Rake/Brush is hands down the best floof remover I’ve ever used. Simple yet incredibly effective, it pulls out huge amounts of fur with almost no effort. I first spotted it in a YouTube reel on a German Shepherd page and immediately thought, “What in the world is that thing?” After zooming in on a screenshot, I caught the name on the brush—and the very next day I had one in my hands for under $10. Now, every time I use it, my backyard looks like it’s snowing fur. Even better, my Shepenois doesn’t seem to mind getting brushed with it, which makes the whole process effortless for both of us.

Removes undercoat well
This does work great to get the fur off my German shepherd. However, it still seems to hurt her. That is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 star. I followed the instructions and watched a video, but it still bothers her. The quality is great and very sturdy. Nice handle to hold. Her coat doesn’t get tangled it is just the undercoat we need to remove a few times a year.

Pulls out so much fur its crazy!
This brush is no joke — it gets so much loose hair out, I couldn’t believe it. My dog has a thick coat that sheds like crazy, and this thing makes a huge difference. The double-sided design is awesome — one side for getting out tangles and the other for really pulling out all that undercoat. It doesn’t hurt or pull too hard, and my dog actually seems to enjoy it (which is a first). The handle feels solid and comfortable to hold, and cleanup is super easy — the fur just slides right off.If you’re tired of dog hair all over your house, you need this brush. It’s seriously one of the best grooming tools I’ve bought. 🐾🧡

My guy loves to be combed, however he is very sensitive to pulls
My Raggy has very long fur (4″) most everywhere and as he loves to be combed, although he is very sensitive to any sort of pulling on his skin. As you can imagine it takes a lot to keep him groomed , especially with 1-2 minute grooming sessions as that is mostly all he allows. My previous Raggy loved getting groomed and his favorite comb was a greyhound comb (long metal with wide teeth on half and skinny on the other), but I was wondering if there might be something out there that would work better with this guy and I came across this grooming rake. The package was incredibly easy to open and the item is 6 3/4″ long and the rake part is 2 3/4″ wide. My guy jumped up on his perch and preceded to make biscuits while I ran the widely spaced side (for detangling) all along one side of him. I have to say that I really was amazed with the amount of fur that was coming off him (especially since I’d combed him 2x already during the week)!! This particular Ragdoll has what my neighbor referred to as “cotton candy” fur as opposed to the more silky fur my previous Raggy had… so I’m not sure if this was the cause of a lot of the removed hair floating all over and clinging to my arms and legs, honestly I’ve never had that happen while combing a cat. I’ve included a photo of most of the fur that came off (as some of it floated all around) in that session. Oddly enough, my Raggy didn’t look less fluffy after his grooming session, perhaps in a couple of weeks of continued grooming I’ll notice the difference. The comb itself is pretty easy to clean, although there isn’t much hair that collects in the teeth (hair does cling all over the handle though). I’m not sure if it is just my Raggy, but every time I’ve used this on him the hair floats all over the room and clings to my arms and legs… not sure why because I live in the PNW and I don’t usually have an issue with static with anything else. It’s comfortable to use and the side with many teeth works well to grab the loose hair that seems to come out of the cat but not get caught in the wider teeth. This is the first summer that my Raggy rescue has been here, so I’m not entirely sure how his summer shed is supposed to go, but perhaps once I can get through that I will know more how effective this rake will be on a regular schedule.Update: This comb definitely did the trick for getting my Ragdoll’s undercoat under control, but I definitely have to comb him right after with the greyhound comb to get all the tuffs of fur off because they really don’t gather in this comb and still float all over everything unless I want to see the biggest hairballs on the floor. I definitely won’t be using this comb much except during the summer shed (if it’s ever as bad as this one, which I’m thinking had to do with how little he got combed previously as he had a bunch of mats when i got him as it can be hard to comb a biter).

No More Hairballs!
This cat comb is the best! I have two long hair cats and this brush is the best yet at removing loose hair shed and any mats or tangles. It is high quality and well designed to serve both functions including removing mats and removing hair shed. It has drastically cut down on the hairballs thrown up and hair around the house. I purchased the smaller one for my cats and it fits both my hand and their bodies perfectly. One of my cats loves being brushed everyday with this comb, the other will not allow it, but for the most part it was a great value for the money.

Very effective and our cat loves it!!
We have a 10-year-old cat who has started getting mats lately. We tried 3 different cat brushes with very little success. We tried bathing him and actually caused more mats to form. I saw this and recognized it as similar to a brush my parents had for their cat when she was elderly and couldn’t groom herself. I bought it thinking “If this doesn’t work, we’ll have to take him to a groomer.” Let me tell you. The first time we used it, so much excess hair came out! Our cat instantly fell in love with it and started begging us to use it. About two weeks later having used it almost daily, we’ve gotten several of the worst mats out and his coat is looking better! Is it a substitute for a professional grooming? No, probably not. We may still need to get our kitty some extra help. But it worked far better than we expected, and it turned out to be something he enjoys. Highly recommended!!

Very hairy cat/dog
Let me tell you this……. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product. I have 4 cats in total. 3 with silky (smooth) type of hair. This product isn’t for their hair. NOW, the one cat in particular is obese and 1/2 Maine coon. His hair gets matted, tangled, coarse and it a complete mess. His hair is so bad that 💩 gets stuck on his fur quite often and he gets constant hairballs. Since having this product we have brushed him twice (different days) and so much hair came out they were the size of a tennis ball (each brush). Oh he was in HEAVEN after his brushing. I did order the large size. I definitely recommend but be careful brushing the tummy and around the buttocks. Just go a little gently in those areas. Otherwise, the quality, design works well for large or very hairy cats. I do have a dog as well but she’s still a puppy and has smooth hair. So a no go for her. Overall, if you have a very hairy animal BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I have an English golden lab, and of all the dogs I’ve ever had, including a husky, this dog sheds BY FAR sheds the most! I mean it is absolutely insane. The furminator did not work on him very well and I’d spend 45 minutes using it then he would shake and a cloud of fur would rise up around us. The de-shed side on this brush is so effective and easy and much faster! It’s even better than the horse brush I had gotten him that also worked better than the furminator. Now I don’t have to vacuum every single day and fill up the vacuum three times in order to get all the hair! Also I highly recommend getting a de-shedding conditioner like the one from girl with the dogs. After you give a good brush out with this thing, then do the bath, it’s perfect. Also don’t get a lab if 1) you don’t want to be a toddler babysitter 100% of the time. 2) They tend to be greasy and when you bathe them they take 2 years to dry. 3) MASSIVE SHEDDING at all times but insanely so in spring and fall. I hope this helps!
