A Delicious Low Calorie Food Topper for Fussy Dog Eaters
The salmon topper is human grade. Adding it the my dog’s dry prescription food has made a big difference in her eating habits. I use 1 box for 3 servings, which is about 45 calories per serving. She is now eager to eat and licks her bowl clean.

Best dog food EVER! Read this!
I have never written a review for dog food before. But, this product commands some attention! I’ve been searching for a grain-free food for my two Brussels Griffons for over a year. They were fed Royal Canin as puppies with the breeder in Wisconsin. We moved them to Texas and the allergens caused constant ear infections among other things (chewing on feet, licking legs, etc.). We decided to remove food allergies from their diet rather than keep them on steroids and Benedryl. It was bad for them!) All of the grain-free kibble we introduced gave them loose stools- some required several midnight visits outside! We went high-end with the food (We didn’t mind spending top dollar for the prior bagged kibble grain-free foods. tThey were all very expensive), but those processed foods were just too rich for them. No problems with loose stools with Force because we moved them into it slowly with the Royal Canin (2 weeks). The moment I let them taste the food, they went crazy! They loved it!I was apprehensive about the preparation, but it’s actually very easy. I mix up the food and water and require the dogs to lie down and stay while it hydrates. They have to earn it and they are happy to wait it out!So cool to see these little ones drop to the floor by just asking, “Are you hungry?” 5-10 minutes later, they are LOVING LIFE!!!They LOVE this food. No stomach upset at all. They both lost the pudginess we struggled with, they are more active, their eyes actually sparkle and the their coats are super shiny! Unbelievable bonus results! Our new puppy will be moved to this food in about a month. I’m eagerly anticipating the results..UPDATE: Months later: my dogs look like a million bucks! Highly energetic and full of spunk. Latley I add different veggies and fruits to give them new tastes. Nothing I am adding causes stomach upset( cooked carrots, peas, green beans, broccoli, raw apples, bananas, berries, and natural yogurt)I add all of this in small quantities since they are at the perfect and happy weight of 8.5 lbs (male) and 16 lbs (female- she’s a big girl!) They know the exact time dinner time should start! I LOVE this food and what it does for our precious animals.Give this food a try. You won’t be sorry! Feel free to contact me if you like. I will be happy to give you details about how this food changed my little one’s life! Mine too. Still can’t believe it!I want to make it clear that Roayal Canin is an upstanding dog food. I beleive that the problems I had with that food in relation to my dogs was the change in environment. I trust the breeders and both have told me that their dogs don’t suffer from the nasty allergens that Dallas dogs have! I beleive this to be true. (My Bostoms lived to a very old age but lived on Benedryl- all in Dallas) Since we adopted these beloved Brussels Griffons, we have lived in Dallas and Mexico usisng both dog foods. Symptoms are all consistent with the change of food. Thank you, Honest Kitchen for producing such a fabulous alternative to natural foods that may be too rich for sensitive tummies!

Smells GREAT! Easy, great Value, and they freaking LOVE IT!
I reluctantly try new dog or cat food for my pets. But lately my Boston Terrier Giggles has been having skin issues and has been ordered to lose weight due to a knee problem. She isn’t over weight but the vet wants her lean to give her knees as much rest as possible. This sent me searching for food options. I thought that with this mix yourself product I could add more water and give her more in her belly so she’ll feel full. The same principle as drinking a glass of water before a meal.Luckily Giggles isn’t allergic to Chicken so I tried the Chicken flavor, Force, first. It is awesome. Plain and simple. They love this food. My other Boston Terrier, Rabbit, inhales food but with this I have to use a puzzle bowl to slow him down. The best part is obviously the high quality, pure food ingredients they use. But for me, the best part is the smell. NO MORE STINKY DOG FOOD! Dry, Force smells like a packet of chicken soup or Thanksgiving. The Beef Grain Free, Love, smells like Apple Roasted Prime Rib. No kidding. I decided to get the grain-in Beef recipe for my non sensitive Boston and my older Chihuahua who has no teeth–he was a rescue–and he only eats soft food now.Mo, the Chihuahua gags on water and throws it up so hydrating this little 4lb dog is a chore. But with Honest Kitchen I can make a soup out of his food and he gets much better hydration without gagging!Every flavor of the dog food I have tried has been a 100% hit in my home. The Grain In product is even a better value than any canned food I would feed my dogs before–like Blue for example.Feeding my dogs is a pleasure not a chore now. No more holding my nose or stinking up the frig with a half used can of dog food. Make exactly the amount you need each time. I have on demand hot water but when we went on a trip, a microwave cup of water is warm enough in 45 seconds to mix into the dry. Easy. Images included are of Love, the Grain Free Beef dog food: Image 1: Dry in bowl Image 2: Right after water is added Image 3: Three minutes later. I choose to add a little more water than called for for rehydration. Often you can see whole pieces of vegetable, fruit and other bits. One last bonus? Less stinky on the business end and less farts. My goodness how amazing. Walking the dog is even better now too!Thank you Honest Kitchen for making a product I feel good about giving to my family of pets. And just in case someone is thinking it–no, I was not asked or paid for this review. It is from my heart.

I would give 5 stars if it wasn’t so expensive. I feed 2 large dogs 2 cups a day and it adds up. I spend about $300 a month. But they love it. I feel good knowing it’s human grade food. I sometimes make a batch of chicken, rice , veggies and add to it to help with cost. My dogs are so healthy and at their perfect weight. No tasteless unhealthy brown nuggets. Try it…I’m sure your dog will thank you.

Not For Every Picky Eating Dog
I have a pretty picky, spoiled rotten (by my wife who treats him like her 5th child) Boston Terrier, who acts like a food critic whenever you place a bowl of food down for him. It’s as if I’m terrified of the reviews I’ll be seeing in the local paper, written by my dog and his last dinner. He ate Kibbles & Bits ever since he was a pup, then suddenly, at 5 1/2 years, he decided he just wasn’t going to eat it any more, and the search was on to end his hunger strike. I read all the great reviews from people who had similar problems getting their picky dogs to eat, and this food being the solution. They all stated it looked like green oatmeal (and didn’t look very appetizing), but their dogs didn’t mind the look, and ate it up. By the reviews, I decided to try it. My dog wouldn’t go within 3 feet of his bowl the first few times I made it. I finally got him to at least go over and smell it (he always does this before eating anything, and after that he wouldn’t go anywhere near his bowl. After a week I finally gave up. In their defense, I also ordered the new Amazon brand of dog food as a backup, I think its called Wag, and he wouldn’t touch that either. But that one didn’t have reviews that read like this dog food was the saving grace you’ve been searching for (written by customers who bought it, not by the seller, just to be clear). After going through this with many other dog foods, I finally decided to research what exactly my dog required for a good balanced healthy diet. Surprisingly, the required foods I would need to purchase to make my own dog food, healthier than anything I could by unless I was spending an extreme amount of money, was actually less than what this food would cost to serve him the same amount of days. Dogs don’t require anything fancy, just healthy, and if it smells like what I’m eating, he’ll do flips for it. I know make his food. A monthly supply of food for him (2 cups a day) costs me anywhere from $20 to $25/month. Much less than what a months worth of human grade food costs. The biggest bonus, he couldn’t eat it fast enough from the very first serving. Still eats every meal without hesitation (although I did learn my dog won’t eat his peas). This food may be great for some dogs, I definitely don’t know enough about it to knock it, and the ingredients are healthy, that’s a fact. But it didn’t work like I thought for my dog. But in the end, I learned that I could make his food at home, just as healthy for less money (with no added preservatives), in less than 20 minutes a week cooking time. And, my dog finally quit complaining and now eats every meal.

Food topper for our golden
Too expensive for us to only feed our 90 lb golden, but we love to use this as a food topper! We prep a week in advance and add a little from the fridge daily. He absolutely loves it and it makes his coat much shinier and silkier. A lot of our friends recommend trying this when their dog was older and wouldn’t eat. Very healthy ingredients with a large size bag! Lasts long if only using as a topper

Quality food at a reasonable price
Edit 2: it’s been 3 weeks since we stopped Honest Kitchen and went back to Doctor Harvey’s. My dogs have stopped being itchy. They thrive on Doctor Harvey’s, so we won’t be doing Honest Kitchen anymore. If your dog struggles with yeast and infections, I do not recommend Honest Kitchen.Edit: we are almost done with the first box of HK food, and my dogs seem to have an allergic reaction to this food. They had been yeast infection free/itchiness free for the past 3 years while eating Doctor Harvey’s. 2 weeks into eating honest kitchen, and they both got ear yeast infections, and one of my dogs is itchy all over. I haven’t changed anything else in their diet. I believe it’s the high starch content with HK recipes. They are able to eat Doctor Harvey’s in all flavors (salmon, chicken, beef, lamb, and turkey) without any reactions, so I know they are not reacting to the protein source, but to the veggie/fruit component. I will return to Doctor Harvey’s and update in a few weeks.Original review: My picky dog loves the grain free beef recipe. For reference, what I mean by picky is:*he didn’t like the Honest Kitchen Grain Inclusive recipes. We tried both beef and chicken grain inclusive recipes, and he refused to eat them both.*my dog loves raw meat*he is also used to eating cooked chicken and pork that I mix with a base mixI believe he likes the sweet potatoes in this recipe.I have two dogs, and this brand and recipe is healthier than other brands we have tried. The fact that he loves it is also a selling point.
